How long until I see results from Botox or Fillers?

It depends what treatment you are having. Botox typically shows results after 2 weeks, and with fillers, you can see the results immediately, however you may be slightly swollen.

How long will my Botox last?

Botulinum Toxin (Botox) typically lasts 12 weeks, however this varies from person to person and some have noticed it last less than 12 weeks. The activity of muscle relaxation is gradual and can take up to 6 weeks to reach it’s full effect, and then it starts to wear off.

Typically we ask you to come in for a review session around 2 weeks after your treatment so we can check how the botulinum toxin is settling.

How long does Botox take to wkr

Does Botox hurt?

We use ultra fine needles that are smaller than the finger nail on your little finger. This helps makes the treatment as painless as possible.

Can I have other facial treatments after having botox or fillers?

Yes, but you will need to wait a minimum of 2 weeks after your treatment.

Do fillers hurt?

We have the option of either having numbing injections in the mouth to numb the lips before your appointment, or using numbing cream. Both options work well and clients report that the treatment is not painful.

How long do fillers last?

This depends on a few factors like where you had the filler placed as well as how your own body breaks it down over time- we are all individual after all! Premium fillers last between 6 and 18 months, and sometimes can last up to 2 years! Fillers used in the midface, cheeks and jaw tend to be thicker and more longer lasting as they need to hold up the structure of the face. Lip fillers tend to be softer, so they can move when we eat and speak so generally tend to break down faster.

What’s the difference between cheap filler like Revolax and something more costly like juvederm or Teosyal?

Premium fillers like the Teosyal range we use in clinic have been well established and researched. The data is based on testing how effective and safe the product is over time. Teosyal was created in Geneva in 2003 and has since won multiple awards. When Madame Valérie Taupin created TEOXANE Laboratories in Geneva in 2003, her vision was crystal clear: to satisfy the ever demanding aesthetic market with high performance, avant-garde products based on rigorous scientific research

TEOSYAL® is a complete range of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, created and manufactured under optimal safety and high-quality requirements in labs based in Geneva. This award-winning line of dermal fillers is made of 100% non-animal origin and biodegradable hyaluronic acid that is highly biocompatible, offering clients immediate and long-lasting results.

REVOLAX is also s hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler, which was developed in South Korea in 2013. It is relatively new to the market and does not have the same length of time behind it for testing. It is also very heavily cross linked, which means it does not break down easily. In situations where filler needs to be dissolved or in emergencies this can pose a problem.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural occurring substance that is found in most cells of your body. HA is found mainly in the skin but is also present in cartilage, connective tissue.
Because HA retains water, it is great for volumising and moisturising the skin. However, in its natural state it has a rapid turnover and degrades really fast. To avoid this rapid breakdown, it is chemically modified for use in dermal fillers to prevent decomposition. This method turns HA from a liquid into a gel by cross linking the molecules.
Cross linking the molecules allows the HA to fill wrinkles and maintain its shape for a longer period of time. The more links that are generated through the cross linking reaction, the longer it takes for the body to break it down.
HA facial fillers can be used to ‘refresh’ your look or ‘enhance’ your features
